Is there going to be a film about his album “Nebraska”?

Bruce Springteen is reportedly working on a film about his record Nebraska. The “boss” of rock music is said to be planning to bring the moving story behind the creation of the LP to the big screen. The 1982 release is known for its raw and intimate sound.

The demo record “Nebraska”

Bruce Springsteen’s acoustic album “Nebraska” was created in an unconventional way and marked a remarkable step in the musician’s career. Released in 1982, it differed from the musician’s previous works as it consisted primarily of raw, acoustic recordings that the artist recorded alone in his bedroom on a four-track cassette player on January 3, 1982.

The work’s origins lie in a series of demos that Springsteen recorded for his next studio album “Born In The USA”. Planned for a full band recording, the now 74-year-old recorded the tracks alone with his guitar and harmonica. He decided to release the raw and unpolished demos.

The ten songs on “Nebraska” explore dark themes such as crime, violence and the American dream. Although not one of the artist’s most commercially successful records, it was critically acclaimed and has grown in appreciation over the years.

A film about Bruce Springsteen

As “Showbiz 411” reports, Springsteen is said to be working on the feature with director and screenwriter Scott Cooper (“Crazy Heart”). According to the report, Austin Butler could take on the role of Bruce Springsteen in the feature film. However, it is also mentioned that he might not be the right choice after already portraying Elvis Presley in the 2022 film “Elvis”. World of Reel reported that the boner may be based on Warren Zane’s book Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska. Details about the production are currently unknown.
