The former European triple jump champion Max Hess will miss the home European Championships in Munich (15th to 21st August).
As reported by the German Athletics Association, the 26-year-old from Chemnitz broke his collarbone after falling on his shoulder during training on Tuesday and will be out for several weeks. Hess is scheduled for surgery later this week.
At the World Championships in Eugene Oregon at the end of July, the 2016 European Champion missed the final by four centimeters as 13th in the preliminary competition.
