Hoppa: Zoetermeer gets this figure for the quality of life in our city

We as Zoetermeerders know that our city is the best place to live. Nevertheless, a study shows that Zoetermeer does not receive the highest score when it comes to quality of life.

The research was carried out by the Nextdoor app in collaboration with the Free University. In it, residents of a city indicate what they think of the quality of life. It turns out: Zoetermeer residents give the quality of life in Zoetermeer a big pass!

Report grade Zoetermeer

According to the survey, Zoetermeer residents give our city a 7.6. So we don’t have to be ashamed of that! Yet we had a higher figure in mind, because which city has such pleasant inhabitants, nice terraces, an attractive city center and beautiful nature areas?

Surrounding places like Alphen aan den Rijn score the same as our city, but cities like The Hague, Rijswijk and Delft get a tenth point lower than Zoetermeer. Only Leidschendam-Voorburg, Lansingerland and Wassenaar score slightly better.

Top 3

We would of course put Zoetermeer in first place, but the top 3 looks different. According to the survey, the municipality of Bergen in North Holland is at the top. Followed by Bloemendaal and Steenbergen in Brabant. Those municipalities were rated by the inhabitants with an 8.48, an 8.24 and an 8.23. The lowest rated municipalities are Kerkrade in South Limburg (6.89), Geertruidenberg in Brabant (6.88) and Vlaardingen in South Holland (6.85).
