Not only Herbert Grönemeyer himself, but also his employees and band members have been infected with Corona. Due to the extensive virus attack, Grönemeyer had to completely cancel his anniversary tour “20 Years of Man”.
Tickets can be returned
Under normal circumstances, the musician would have started his eight-part tour of Germany next Thursday (May 26) in Hanover. This date and all other seven must now be canceled. Since no replacement dates are planned either, tickets that have already been purchased can be returned to the advance booking offices, according to “Spiegel”.
Grönemeyer and crew are disappointed
The management of the 66-year-old musician announced: “Despite all precautionary measures, we have not been spared from the virus”. It was also reported that Grönemeyer and his crew were going “difficult according to the situation”, everyone was struggling with a “mixture of sadness, anger and virus”.
“After more than two years of the strictest isolation and endurance tests during the rehearsals,” the situation was “extremely bitter and devastating,” the statement continued. An apology also followed: “We are very, very sorry, especially for all the people who wanted to come and for all the inconvenience it causes.”

Actually, the tour was supposed to celebrate his album “Mensch”, which was released 20 years ago. This was his most successful work to date, and a book is even dedicated to it, which is supposed to reflect the process of making the record. Although the next tour has already been announced, fans will have to wait until May 2023. Then Herbert Grönemeyer will travel through Germany, Austria and Switzerland for eleven planned concerts.
