Helmond Sport finally wins; TOP Oss falls sharply at MVV

After four draws and a defeat, finally another victory for Helmond Sport. The team of trainer Bob Peeters and technical manager Jurgen Streppel won 1-0 against Roda JC, where both have been active in the past.

FC Eindhoven lost for the third time in a row. The team, which had started the 24th round as number four in the Kitchen Champion Division, also failed to score for the third consecutive game. Now competitor Almere City FC won (0-1). All matches played this Friday evening were preceded by a minute of silence in memory of all the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

Helmond Sport – Roda JC 1-0
Hakon Lorentzen was the man in De Braak. Already in the 8th minute he provided the, as it turned out, winning goal. Well deserved too, because Roda JC made no sense at all and Helmond Sport showed its good side. It was a very special match for Mees Kreekels: he made his debut in the base of Helmond Sport and thus followed in the footsteps of his grandfather Lambert and father Bertran.

FC Eindhoven – Almere City FC 0-1
FC Eindhoven could have recaptured third place from Almere City FC with a win, but coach Rob Penders’ team remains in the corner where the blows fall. She looked powerless again. The only goal came after 16 minutes in the name of José Pascual Alba Seva.

FC Eindhoven had Charles-Andreas Brym again, who had returned from a suspension. The Canadian striker did not reach the final signal: he was booked twice and therefore has to watch another game.

FC Den Bosch – Young Ajax 4-2
Recently, FC Den Bosch was unable to compete with Ajax’s first team in the KNVB Cup tournament; Friday evening it took the win against the Amsterdam reserves. After a spectacular evening it became 3-2. Anass Ahannach broke open the game in the 17th minute, after which Jorrel Hato, who had made his debut in the Amsterdam main force in the cup match, restored the balance after more than half an hour. Even before the break, Kristian Hlynsson took the lead for Ajax.

After the restart, it was Joey Konings who gave the home team the lead again with two goals. In the 83rd minute, the defense of Jong Ajax went crazy and Faris Hammouti set the final score at 4-2. FC Den Bosch may have been extra keen on a win, because it has become known that the contract with trainer Jack de Gier will not be extended after this season.

NAC Breda – De Graafschap 2-0
NAC had little to fear from De Graafschap, which performed very disappointingly this season. Odysseus Velanas opened the score from a penalty kick in the 40th minute. Ten minutes into the second half, substitute Ezechiel Banzuni made it 2-0. It was a deserved victory.

Willem II – FC Dordrecht 1-0
Willem II had a lot of trouble with FC Dordrecht for a long time, so that the disappointing game threatened to end in 0-0. Jizz Hornkamp was particularly concerned about that: in the 50th minute he was allowed to moor from eleven meters, but Dordrecht goalie Liam Bossin turned the bet in a clever way. In the 78th minute it still became 1-0 thanks to a lucky header from the tireless Elton Kabangu. Willem II continued the advance with the win: Reinier Robbemond’s team is now number four in the ranking. The number of yellow cards was striking: eight. Referee Richard Martens gave three to a Willem II player.

The meeting was also dominated by Serge Rossmeisl, a great fan of Willem II, who died of leukemia in October.

MVV Maastricht – TOP Oss 5-1
TOP played a match in Maastricht that will soon be forgotten. Under the (temporary) leadership of Klaas Wels, the formation from Oss suffered a hopeless 5-1 defeat. She did open the score (by Rick Stuy van de Herik), but three goals within six minutes after the break made TOP an opponent without a chance. MVV’s hits came in the name of Ruben van Bommel (two), Rein van Helden, Nicky Souren and Dailon Livramento.
