André Hazes Jr. only started laughing again last Monday after returning to Schiphol when Monique Westenberg was out of sight. That is what Story boss Guido den Aantrekker says.
After just under two weeks, André Hazes Jr. and Monique Westenberg returned from a holiday on the Thai island of Koh Samui last Monday morning. The two were ‘caught’ at the VIP exit by paparazzo Edwin Smulders and their photos are on the cover of the latest Story.
Love reunion or not?
Guido den Aantrekker, the editor-in-chief of Story who hotline has with Rachel Hazes, claims at high and low that there is no love reunion between André and Monique. “I know that many of my colleagues, against their better judgement, are hoping for a full recovery. That has not happened and that was not in line with expectations.”
He continues in Show news: “You have to keep in mind that André is still in the process of getting rid of his mental burnout. Although the pictures looked really nice and it was really fun, you have to imagine the impact that would have if you were to plunge into a new relationship all over again.”
Laughing without Mo
How is Guido so sure that André and Monique are not together? Does Rachel say that? “I don’t think he’s ready for that yet. That’s my job to know that. I’ve been around for a while and you have contacts with people from the periphery, from André’s environment, who tell you about it.”
André’s body language also points to this, according to Guido. The singer was picked up from Schiphol by his cousins Djarno and Diego Hofland. “I liked the atmosphere [met Monique op Schiphol] was very cool and you could see that when he arrived at the residential area in Mijdrecht, there was plenty of laughter again and those boys became a bit themselves again.”
cool
The atmosphere between André and Monique was cool? Not so strange, thinks colleague Dyantha Brooks. “You say that the atmosphere was cool, but when I leave Schiphol with my suitcase, I don’t skip a beat either.”
Guido: “No, but then you base yourself on the photos, but of course we know a little more than those photos. I think the hope is just too high for a lot of people who think everything is back to normal.”
Evert stays with it
Evert Sankrediets, the boss of the competing gossip magazine Privé, stands behind his own story. He says that André and Monique are indeed together again and that a marriage is on the way.
Even Rachel has now reconciled with the idea, Evert says today in his podcast Strictly Private. “I think she is gradually thinking: let me accept it, because I will never get rid of that woman.”
