Markus Gaugisch is the new national coach of the German women’s handball team.
The coach of the two-time German champion SG BBM Bietigheim follows the selection of the German Handball Association (DHB) on the Dutchman Henk Groener, with whom the association could not agree on a contract extension.
“I’m on fire: It’s a dream to train the German women’s national handball team – combined with the prospect of European and world championships and the Olympic Games,” Gaugisch was quoted as saying in a DHB message on Thursday.
