Hammer throw world champion DeAnna Price (USA) will not defend her title at the upcoming World Championships in Athletics starting Friday in Eugene, Oregon.
Due to a corona infection recognized at the beginning of the month, the 29-year-old does not see herself as fit for a World Cup competition and canceled her participation.
“I don’t even feel close to what I feel is necessary to be competitive at Worlds level even in qualifying,” Price wrote on social media.
