The number one referee beat his challenger Trentalange: he succeeds Pacifici, in office since April 2023
The Italian Referees Association has its new president, the 36th in the history of the organization: he is Antonio Zappi who beat Alfredo Trentalange with 72.3% of the votes (673) in the elections held in a hotel in the capital against 26.4% (246) of the rival, while the blank ballots were 11. Voters (electronically) were 930 out of 945 eligible voters.

Antonio Zappi, 59 years old, professional in the field of tax training and tax consultancy, is a former referee with over 40 years of membership in The Hague and long experience both as a referee and as a manager. He was born in Viterbo and lives in San Donà di Piave (Venice). Race director up until Can D, he left in 1998 due to an injury. He was responsible for the National Inspection Service of the Hague from 2009 to 2016 and has been a member of the National Committee of the Hague since 2021.
