In the night from Saturday to Sunday, a 10-year-old girl was killed in a collision between two cars on the A73 near Sint Joost in Limburg.
The victim comes from Gelsenkirchen in Germany and was in the car with her 36-year-old father. He was taken to hospital in Venlo.
In the other car was a family with three children. The occupants of this car, a 43-year-old man, a 34-year-old woman, two girls aged 4 and 7 and a boy aged 12 were taken to hospital in Maastricht with unknown injuries. It is not yet known where this family comes from.
It is also unclear how the collision could have taken place. The police are still investigating.
