Long term contract
Arsenal have tied one of their top performers to themselves for the long term. According to the “Gunners” on Friday evening, central defender Gabriel Magalhães, who previously had a contract until 2025, signed a new contract – the duration was not disclosed. His signature with the Londoners seems to inspire the professional.
“I’m very happy to sign this new contract at Arsenal because it’s such a big club. It’s my dream and today is the happiest day of my life,” said Gabriel Magalhães. “Every game, the fans drive the team in the stadium. That’s why I’m so happy to stay here. Arsenal is my home.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said: “Gabi has shown great quality since he came to us. He’s a young player with a great work ethic and his consistently strong performances over the last two seasons have been hugely important to us. It is a pleasure to work with Gabi every day. He’s developed a close relationship with everyone at the club and we’re delighted he’s signed a long-term contract with us.”
24-year-old Gabriel Magalhães switched from LOSC Lille to current Premier League leaders Arsenal in 2020 for 26 million euros, since then the defensive man has made 83 games, nine goals and one assist. During this time, he almost doubled his market value from 20 to 38 million euros.
