Zé Roberto was a long-time favorite in the Bundesliga. After his career, the former Brazilian international found a new calling.
336 Bundesliga games, 39 goals, 97 assists: Zé Roberto played in the Bundesliga for a total of twelve years and is one of the best players in the history of the top German league. The long-time Brazilian international spent six seasons in Germany at FC Bayern Munich, becoming German champion four times and DFB Cup winner four times.
And he continued for a long time after his final departure from the Bundesliga in 2011 – at the age of 37. It was only in 2017 – at the age of 43 – that Zé Roberto ended his great career at the Brazilian top club Palmeiras São Paulo. Stop exercising afterwards? No way: The former midfielder has been impressing for years with a tough, muscular body like a bodybuilder and wants to show that fitness is not a question of age.
As proof, the now 50-year-old has presented himself again on Instagram – and once again amazed people in a new video: Every muscle is defined, not a gram of fat. He looks like he could sign for a Bundesliga club again tomorrow.
“If you want to train and can’t motivate yourself, you should follow me on Instagram!” said Zé Roberto in an interview with Bayern Magazine in the summer on the occasion of his 50th birthday. “If you have a goal in mind, then motivation is not a problem. And today my goal is to help others! I am a role model for many people! That is my life today, my essence. And I want to stick with it, keep going, Because everything goes by so quickly.”
