Eusebio Sacristan has reappeared publicly tonight, two years after the serious domestic accident that changed his life on the penultimate day of 2020. The coach and former soccer player from Valladolid suffered a fall that caused a head injury for which he spent more than three weeks in an induced coma . The Dream Team player spoke with Lluis Canut in the TV3 program ‘Vaques Sagrades’.
“I didn’t know what to do in this life if I couldn’t have a conversation with other people. I was alone, in my world, without being able to talk to anyone,” he explains. eusebio about the hardest moment he has ever experienced.
“I realized that I had had a successful life. I had achieved everything I wanted. I thought about the reason for the accident and found the reason. The cause of the whole process was to tell people everything that I had past in life. I had never told anyone what I wanted to achieve, what I finally achieved. Now I can say that my life has been a success.”
Keep fighting
Now, his goal is “to continue fighting to have a normal life and a normal conversation.” The coach continues to do optometrist, therapeutic and speech therapy treatments. But the passion that has guided his life remains intact:
“Since I was little, I only had one thing on my mind: I wanted to be a footballer. It has been the most important thing in my life. When I didn’t have the ability to talk to anyone and I was far from the green, I have continued to do what I like the most: watch football “.
