Football supporters of FC Volendam and FC Emmen came to blows after the game last night. Three officers were also assaulted in the brawl. A 33-year-old man from Emmen has been arrested. Police are not ruling out multiple arrests.
With a lot of battle on both sides, the relegation battle between FC Volendam and FC Emmen ended in a one for FC Volendam very important 3-1 win. This battle continued after the game behind the football stadium in Volendam. Images on social media show football supporters fighting with each other. Bicycles are also thrown.

A police spokesperson informs NH Nieuws that three officers were mistreated when they tried to separate the supporters: “Colleagues were punched and kicked. One colleague was thrown at everything. I’m talking about physical items here.”
Man from Emmen arrested
Later in the evening, they were able to arrest a 33-year-old man from Emmen in Zwolle. It is not yet clear why this man was arrested and whether he is still in custody is not yet clear. “The police also received the images and officers from Emmen were also present, so they were able to arrest this man,” the police spokesperson explains.
The investigation into the brawl is in full swing and therefore the police do not rule out several arrests.
