During the first three months of this year, the number of local road fatalities on Belgian roads fell by 18 percent compared to the same period last year. There were 89 road deaths against 108 in the same period last year. One in three deaths is a cyclist or pedestrian. This is evident from the road safety barometer of Vias institute based on figures from the federal police.
