The Rossa shines again in Sakhir, with the Spaniard setting the best time, finishing ahead of world champion Verstappen
Only one day of testing is missing, scheduled for tomorrow, before the start of the 2022 World Cup. Times are tightening, but in the meantime, today has given us some confirmations. Above all that of Ferrari, which recorded the best time with Carlos Sainz. Behind him was the world champion Verstappen, while Leclerc finished in sixth place.
F1, Bahrain test: Sainz ahead of everyone

Although these are only indicative times (it is no secret, in fact, that many try the race pace more than the single lap time) and many teams – including Red Bull and Mercedes – do not want to discover the cards even before the start of the season, it is a positive sign to see a Ferrari in the lead. Sainz obtained the best performance with the C4 compound, stopping the clock at 1’33 ”532, almost half a second behind the reigning World Champion Max Verstappen on Red Bull, author of 86 laps against 60 of the Spaniard. Not many laps for Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), 4th with 47 laps completed at the end of the session and behind Lance Stroll, third with his Aston Martin. Esteban Ocon (Alpine) did a great job completing 111 laps, while Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) finished sixth less than 1 ”behind his team mate. The workaholic of the day is Yuki Tsunoda (AlphaTauri) with 119 laps. Tomorrow we will be back on track for the final day of the 2022 tests and who knows if someone is starting to get really serious.
