Germany is sweating, but the radiators at Eisen Döring am Kaiserdamm are sold out! A new delivery is not expected before September.
Owner Frank Döring (53) to the BZ: “You can’t get a radiator in all of Berlin.” The shelves in the hardware stores have long been empty.
Actually, the season for mobile heaters doesn’t start until autumn. But Berliners are afraid of a cold winter and the lack of gas deliveries!
At Döring, a radiator costs 199 euros. Plug in, switch on, that’s it. “You can easily heat 25 square meters with it,” says the dealer.
Thorsten Storck, energy expert at Verivox, however, explains: Radiators are uneconomical in continuous operation (as a replacement for gas heating).
