FC Bayern waves a million bonus for Robert Lewandowski

The transfer of Robert Lewandowski from FC Bayern to FC Barcelona caused a lot of fuss last summer. In the end, the Munich team received an impressive sum of millions for their long-standing superstar. Apparently, the German record champions will soon receive a bonus payment.

According to “Mundo Deportivo”, FC Barcelona must transfer an additional 1.25 million euros to FC Bayern for every season in which Lewandowski breaks the 25 competitive goals mark.

The 34-year-old currently has 23 goals in 25 games for Barca. Already on Sunday (9 p.m.) Lewandowski could reach the mark of 25 goals with a brace against FC Sevilla.

Lewandowski is tied to FC Barcelona until 2026. Should the 34-year-old score at least 25 goals each season, the Catalans would have to pay Bayern Munich a total of five million euros (4 x 1.25 million).

FC Bayern collects 45 million euros

The Polish national player switched from FC Bayern to the Primera División last summer after weeks of transfer theatre. Barca reportedly paid €45m for Lewandowski in return.

The two-time world footballer can build on his extremely successful time at FC Bayern in Spain and is by far the top scorer in head coach Xavi’s team.

FC Barcelona (50 points) currently ranks ahead of arch-rival Real Madrid (45 points) at the top of the Primera División. The first title has already been won by winning the Spanish Supercup.

However, there was a big setback in the Champions League. Barca only finished third in the group stage behind FC Bayern and Inter Milan and must therefore continue to play in the Europa League. In the intermediate round there is a cracker duel with Manchester United.
