A match between two lower teams of amateur clubs NVC from Naarden and BVV’31 from Blaricum ended on Saturday afternoon with two serious assaults. About six to seven people hit and kicked a 26-year-old and a 29-year-old BVV’31 player.
After the game between the two clubs ended around 3.45 pm, violence broke out. According to the police, who call the fight ‘an explosion of violence’, a member of BVV’31 was attacked and abused in the dugout by approximately six to seven people.
One of those involved kicked the 26-year-old player full in the chest. The victim fell and was kicked and beaten several times by the other persons. The player was also hit on the head.
Beaten and kicked
Another 29-year-old BVV’31 player was abused by just as many people. They beat and kicked him to the ground. Because others present stopped the fighting, the two victims could be freed from their plight.
The alerted police arrested a 29-year-old suspect from Hilversum at the NVC complex. Both players of BVV’31 filed a report and had to be checked by a doctor. The 29-year-old suspect was taken in for questioning.
Police are looking for witnesses and footage of the assault. Both BVV’31 and NVC could not be reached for comment tonight.
