This season, Pendikspor, Bodrumspor and Sakaryaspor were the teams that were promoted from the TFF 2nd League. Altay, Göztepe, Yeni Malatyaspor and Çaykur Rizespor were relegated from Spor Toto Super League to a lower league.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, which was previously used in the play-offs in the 1st League, will be applied in all competitions as of this season.
The team, which will finish the season in the first two places, will be promoted directly to the Spor Toto Super League. Teams finishing the league in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th places will play the play-offs. With the changed status this season, the team that will finish the league in 3rd place will advance directly to the play-off finals. Teams finishing the league in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th places will face each other according to the single-match elimination method. The matches will be played on the field of the 4th and 5th teams according to the single-match elimination method. The teams that win these matches will meet according to the double-elimination method, with the first match on the field of the team that finished the league in the lower rank. As a result of these struggles, the winning team will advance to the play-off final as the second finalist. The play-off final will be held on neutral ground according to the single-match elimination method. The teams in the last 4 places of the league will also be relegated to the TFF 2nd League.
