The Finnish men’s national basketball team will face Spain in the EC quarterfinals on Tuesday. The opposition is tough, as Spain is the reigning world champion.
However, the team has changed a lot, as the big names have either quit, are injured or on the sidelines due to personal reasons.
Spain head coach Sergio Scariolo praised Lauri from Markka into a world-class star before the match.
– You have to defend against Markkas, but not at the expense of other players. If you let Finland play their way, they will drive you crazy. They sink the triple after first running 23 seconds like headless chickens, said the Spanish pilot.
