Helping each other in society, that’s what Veronica from Enkhuizen believes in. That’s why she recently put a call on Facebook for someone in town to take her son Roan and his friends to the school gala in a nice car, and they succeeded. Walter stepped in for Roan and his friends: “I can do it, and I’ve got a nice car for it.”
The three men look top notch last night, with their hair curled up and wearing a tuxedo, they’re ready for the big school gala. They proudly pose in front of Walter’s Tesla, before he takes them to party center De Nieuwe Doelen.
Schoolchildren arrive at the party center in all kinds of ways: from an old American car, to a tractor and even on a trailer in a boat. “You can’t think of it that crazy. Often parents rent something, it is sometimes very extreme,” says Veronica.
Help from fellow human beings
Veronica chooses not to rent a car, but to enlist the help of her fellow residents. Many Enkhuizers respond enthusiastically to the call on Facebook. “They are proud of their car and want to show it.”
They are eager to offer Roan and his friends a ride. “He could also choose from a Ferrari or a Rolls Roy, but he wanted to take his friends with him and chose the Tesla,” says Veronica.
Veronica and her son Roan think it’s very nice to see that they are willing to do this. “It’s really great that Walter is doing this for the students.”
