Education for Ukrainian refugees on the West Coast from Tuesday

A big challenge, because there are more than 100 extra students involved. At least 6 OKAN classes will be added. These are reception classes to learn Dutch as quickly as possible.

Two schools in Nieuwpoort and Veurne already have experience with OKAN classes. These are often Syrian refugees and young people from asylum centres. The municipalities will know at the earliest on Wednesday whether they will receive support from the government. But for the time being, there is still uncertainty about this.
