IN NUMBERS

BOUNDARIES.

In the world, this alert has already begun to materialize in campaigns against child cybergambling and regulations. In Great Britain the Committee for Advertising Practice (CAP) and the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) have announced new rules applicable to gambling ads targeting vulnerable audiences. In particular, for example, it was prohibited for platforms to use the image of top-level footballers or those with a considerable number of followers to promote themselves. According to official figures, at least 30,000 children up to the age of 11 were classified as problem gamblers.

In Spain, according to statistics from the Ministry of Health, 10.3% of young people between the ages of 14 and 18 place bets on the Internet.

For this reason, the Orange organization, together with the National Police, launched a campaign to raise awareness among families about the risks that this type of activity poses to minors: isolation, anxiety, aggressiveness and addiction are just some of its possible consequences.

Sports betting, especially those made on soccer, are the fastest growing. And as a consequence of the fact that in Europe the restrictions are increasingly harsh, a large part of the platforms land in Latin America.

In Chile, most first division teams are sponsored by bookmakers. For this reason, a bill was presented in the Sports Commission of the Chamber of Deputies to prohibit all its advertising.

In Argentina, there is still no national law that regulates online platforms and there are no official statistics on childhood cyberpathy. However, it is enough to enter any of these sites to confirm that there are no age requirements to bet: you just need to have a card nearby.
