At 60 years old, the Madrid pilot is one of the great motor legends and in 2023 it will compete again in the Dakar Rally, with the aim of lifting the title for the fourth time.
After competing in 15 Dakar Rallyes, the Spanish driver will face its sixteenth in this 2023, with the last one played in 2021 with Audi in which he was twelfth. Carlos has managed to win three times, all of them with Lucas Cruz as co-driver.
The first victory in a Dakar Rally was achieved in 2010with Volkswagen. Next came the 2018 win with Peugot and finally, the 2020 Dakar with Mini. In addition, Sainz has 41 stage wins.
Of all the editions in which the Madrid rider has participated, he has had to leave six times: 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
