Cody Gakpo makes the switch from PSV to Liverpool FC. After a successful World Cup, the attacker was in the interest of all top clubs and opted for a switch to the English superpower.
Gakpo had a good season under Roger Schmidt, but made his final breakthrough at PSV and the Dutch national team last season. In Eindhoven he was important with twelve assists and nine goals in the Eredivisie. At the Dutch team he was the star last World Cup by scoring a goal in all group matches.
It is not yet known for what amount he will leave for Liverpool. PSV only wants to let it be known that it is a record transfer. This would mean that a minimum of 42 million euros will be paid. That was the amount for which Hirving Lozano left Eindhoven in 2019.
