Canadian Premier League market values: Diaz rises to the top – Schaale falls

Ulbricht is gaining ground

Transfermarkt.us has completely updated the Canadian Premier League market values. A total of 200 players were included in this update. João Morelli (26; HFX Wanderes FC) remains at the top of the market value list with 450,000 euros despite a cruciate ligament rupture, which means he will be out until the end of the season. However, the 26-year-old Brazilian has to share the spot with Alejandro Díaz (26, Pacific FC).

The Mexican leads the scoring charts this season with six goals from nine games, resulting in a market value increase of 50 percent. Díaz has never been more valuable in his career.

However, Díaz is not the only Pacific FC player who can look forward to a market value increase in this update. Amer Didic (27) was signed to replace Lukas MacNaughton, who had moved to Major League Soccer for Toronto FC, and was able to fill the gap straight away. His performances have made him one of the best defenders in the league, which is now reflected in his market value. Didic’s appraisal increased by a whopping 133 percent from 150,000 euros to 350,000 euros. This makes him the most valuable central defender in the CPL along with Karifa Yao (21; Cavalry FC).

One player who was expected to move to a bigger league is Terran Campbell (23). The former Pacific FC forward joined league rivals Forge FC ahead of the season, where he has performed well so far. Despite the opportunity to play in the Concacaf Champions League, the move within the league surprised many observers. As a result, Campbell’s value has been revised down slightly, from €350,000 to €300,000 now. However, the forward remains among the top ten most valuable CPL players.

Talent De Rosario and Rea rise – German Schaale loses

Some talents were also able to increase their market values in this update. For example, Osaze De Rosario’s (20) market value increased by 200 percent from 100,000 euros to 300,000 euros. The son of Canada national team legend Dwayne De Rosario joined Canada from Ukrainian top flight club Rukh Lviv in April this year and made his mark with the team straight away (three goals).

The market values of the four German CPL players were also taken into account in this update. While Tobias Warschewski (24; FC Edmonton) and Julian Roloff (21; Cavalry FC) were able to confirm their market values of 250,000 euros and 100,000 euros respectively, central defender Peter Schaale (25; HFX Wanderers) lost a quarter of his market value and now comes to 150,000 Euro. This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid. The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
