BVB increases pressure on exit candidate

Nico Schulz has been a candidate to leave Borussia Dortmund for a long time. But the left-back is still under contract with BVB. For this reason, the Bundesliga club should now increase the pressure.

Borussia Dortmund has so far been looking in vain for a buyer for Nico Schulz. The 29-year-old no longer plays a sporting role with the black and yellow and should therefore leave the club in the current transfer period.

As the “Ruhr news” report, BVB is now tightening the reins. As a result, there should be no ticket for the flight to the training camp for the ex-national player. Dortmund are leaving for Switzerland on Friday, but Schulz is said to not be allowed to travel to Bad Ragaz.

The native of Berlin, who was absent from team training after a slight ligament strain in his ankle, would either have to keep fit individually in Dortmund or train with the U23 team.

BVB coach Terzic: “Nico also knows his situation”

The usually well-informed newspaper quotes BVB head coach Edin Terzic as saying that all the players were “openly and honestly spoken to about their situation and prospects”. “Nico also knows his situation,” added the 39-year-old after the public training session on Monday.

Most recently, Schulz was associated with Lazio Rome. But the Italian first division club then denied the rumors. “Nico Schulz is not on my wish list,” said Lazio sports director Igli Tare on “Sport1” and explained: “We’ve never spoken to each other.” So BVB has to look for another solution.

Schulz switched from TSG Hoffenheim to Borussia in 2019. Since then, the full-back has not been able to assert himself and has mostly had to queue behind Raphael Guerreiro, whose future in Westphalia is also uncertain.
