José Mourinho returns as Real Madrid’s head coach. PDO
The name of the new head coach of the Spanish football giant Real Madrid was confirmed in a quite extraordinary way.
The matter came to the fore when Florentino Pérez was re-elected as the club’s president.
– We are proud to have the best players in the world and we are proud to welcome back one of the best coaches in the world, José Mourinho, Perez announced when the voting results were published.
For weeks, Mourinho was taken to the helm of Real. He last coached the Madrid club in 2010–13.
Mourinho, 63, was the head coach of the Portuguese club Benfica last season. During his career, he has also coached Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Manchester United, Tottenham, AS Roma and Fenerbahçe.
Real Madrid made coaching moves last season when they fired Xabi Alonso. Real’s interim head coach was Álvaro Arbeloa.
