Clothing store scams torment Finns. Even slightly vague shop pages or offers that seem good should be looked at in more detail before ordering.

An online clothing store called Dopetakit.com offers branded clothing at a good discount, but is actually a scam site. Those who ordered clothes from the service have received something completely different from what the order promised.
– I ordered ski pants, but I got fake Ray-Bans, commented the user of the service.

At first glance, the website looks similar to the brand’s official, reliable dealer dopesnow.comwebsite. However, you can tell the difference from the clumsy spelling and the vague privacy statement.
Only a debit card works as a means of payment in the service. The site also does not use an encrypted https connection, but an unencrypted http connection.
Not a new phenomenon
Similar scam online stores have been around for a long time. Data security writer Petteri Järvinen has noticed a similar phenomenon repeating itself under the guise of many other brands.

– This (dopetakit.com) seems to be of the same series as the others. There are tens or hundreds of websites, based on which one can think that the operation is systematic, Järvinen tells Iltalehte.
According to Järvinen, the service providers of online stores are originally from the Chinese Alibaba cloud server. It is typical for orders that the customer always gets something, but never what he ordered.
– Of course, it is possible to get the credit card payment back, but it really requires a lot of effort from the consumer, says Järvinen.

Anyone who has fallen for a scam should react quickly and primarily contact the bank so that possible money transactions can be cancelled.
In addition to the Dope brand, similar scam websites have been created in the names of Airjordan, Nike, Helly-Hansen and Vans, among others.
Of course, this is only the tip of the iceberg.
