Belgian ANWB warns of fuel shortages in France | Car

More than one in ten petrol stations in France are struggling with fuel shortages due to a strike at TotalEnergies, which has lasted for ten days and has caused several refineries to be blocked. The two Esso-ExxonMobil refineries in France are also affected by a strike.

The gas stations that are still open in France are heavily frequented by motorists, which means that there are often long queues to refuel. Touring therefore advises motorists to provide sufficient fuel in France and to ensure that they have refueling options on their route.

“If you find that you can’t make it to the gas station after all, stop in a safe place and don’t run the tank completely empty to avoid damage to the engine. You can then warn a roadside assistance provider”, according to the Belgian counterpart of the ANWB.
