Bekaert sees turnover increase by a quarter in first half
Bekaert realized an underlying EBIT (earnings before interest and tax) of 283 million euros, almost the same as in the first half of last year. The net result rose by 14 percent to 237 million euros.
Bekaert has delivered robust growth and solid earnings performance in the first half of 2022 with strong pricing and “excellent” operational performance. “Bekaert succeeded despite increasing volatility, cost inflation, supply chain challenges, lockdowns in China, and weaker demand in some regions, compared to a very strong first half last year,” it said.
Bekaert maintains its profitability expectations for the medium term. However, the company emphasizes that the outlook for 2022 remains “very volatile” due to macroeconomic and geopolitical turbulence.
