BBL: Alba Berlin and FC Bayern win

The head-to-head race at the top of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) continues: Champion Alba Berlin successfully defended the lead in the standings and beat Telekom Baskets Bonn again.

At the Veolia Towers Hamburg, the defending champion won on the 29th matchday with 83:63 (40:32) and, after the ninth success in a row, is one win ahead of his closest pursuer. National player Johannes Thiemann was the most successful thrower for the Albatrosses with 16 points.

Bayern Munich also continued their winning streak. The cup winner literally won in the last second 73:72 (37:38) against the former series champion Brose Bamberg.

In a dramatic final phase, Vladimir Lucic sank the three-pointer that was decisive for the comeback victory, with which Bayern left the league as winners for the eighth time in a row.

In the basement duel, the penultimate Fraport Skyliners won 71:65 (31:31) against Syntainics MBC Weißenfels. Thanks to a strong first half, the Löwen Braunschweig also collected big points in the relegation battle and defeated ratiopharm Ulm 84:67 (51:35).
