The Bavarians cut off the competition: Nagelsmann’s team has everything to continue domination at home. Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig follow
Will some German team arrive sooner or later capable of breaking Bayern Munich’s monopoly in the Bundesliga? The Bavarians have won the last ten titles, mistreating the competition at home. And they don’t seem to have any intention of stopping: for a Lewandowski who could say hello (towards Barcelona) there is a Mané who arrives. In short, Julian Nagelsmann’s team is by right the favorite to win again in the Bundesliga: it would be the 33rd title for the red and white, after the victory last season with an eight-point advantage over Borussia Dortmund.
THE DORTMUND
–
Even according to the bookmakers, Bayern are the clear favorites for the title: none of the operators goes beyond 1.30 as the share for the title of the Bavarians, who are very detached from the competition. On paper, the second strength of the German championship is Borussia Dortmund: a fate that seems cruel to the Gialloneri, driven by the desire for glory but always a step behind their rivals. All the more reason now is that there is no longer the cover man, that Erling Haaland capable of scoring 29 goals last season: the Norwegian is a new Manchester City player, the substitute could be Sebastien Haller of Ajax. And also look to the future of another Dortmund star, Jude Bellingham: from England they set their sights on the midfielder born in 2003.
THE LIPSY
–
Dortmund will still try to build a competitive team, but competition to this Bayern seems difficult. And the third force? According to the bookmakers, it is Leipzig, the fourth force in the Bundesliga last year, semifinalist in the Europa League – with the elimination at the hands of Rangers – and winner of the German Cup. Obviously we need to understand how Domenico Tedesco’s team will come out of the transfer market: what will become of Nkunku, Szoboszlai and Laimer? Many of Leipzig’s ambitions will pass from here. But the title race still seems difficult to imagine: the plausible goal is to qualify for the Champions League.
