HCAW will organize the European Champions Cup in June 2023. The Bussum-squad secured European baseball by becoming Dutch champion for the first time in 24 years last season.
A few weeks ago, HCAW decided to submit a bid to the European federation to take on the organization. On Monday it was announced that the bid has been accepted, allowing HCAW to lead the tournament in the right direction.
The European Champions Cup last took place in the Netherlands in 2018. The Rotterdam Neptunus was then allowed to take on the organization. That year, Neptunus also won the tournament. This makes the Rotterdammers the last Dutch winner for the time being.
HCAW chairman Bas Veerman is very happy with the organization of the international tournament. “It’s a great stage for our players to show off. We can let all our super enthusiastic supporters enjoy international top baseball for five days.”
Amsterdam Pirates
HCAW does not organize the tournament alone. Amsterdam Pirates will also take on a part of the organization. The exact dates of the five-day tournament will be announced later.
