The city council is expanding or building 11 centers of this type
The Barcelona City Council Councilor for Education, Pau González, explained this Wednesday that the council will open four nursery schools next year, bringing the municipal network to 105 centres. “We continue to make progress in the universalization of education from 0 to 3 years old,” Gonzàlez stressed, stressing that the city council is “very lonely& rdquor; in this investment effort, since, he has specified, he covers more than 50% of the cost of schooling in this age group. In other words, the Generalitat pays less than half.
Of the four new schools, two have started work these days. One of these two is Bressol Municipal School (EBM) Trinitat Nova, a provisional name. In this case, the reform of the premises on the ground floor of a public works building at number 70 Palamós street, in Trinitat Nova, in the Nou Barris district, has begun with a budget of 2.2 millions of euros.
The distribution
The premises will host an existing nursery school that will go from two to seven groups and that will extend its schedule, which is now only in the morning. The new equipment will consist of 872 square meters with seven rooms, one per group; a multipurpose room, a room for the teaching team, a space for workshops and visits, dining room, kitchen and pantry, among other spaces, as well as 530 square meters of covered and uncovered patio areas.
The second recently started work takes place in the old Can Rosés farmhouse, at Déu i Mata 57, in the Les Corts neighborhood (in the district of the same name). With a budget of 1.2 million euros, the works are intended to rehabilitate and expand the property to convert it into the Escola Bressol Can Rosés. This will have three floors and will add 1,000 square meters of surface. It will have six rooms and a terrace of 90 square meters.

Last spring, reforms began at the Calafell nursery school, at Andrade, 184, in the Sant Martí de Provençals neighborhood (Sant Martí district), to move the EBM L’Esquitxwhich will free up the space it now occupies, in the Center Civic Sant Martí, with a budget of 3.2 million.
