Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer will travel to Russia on Monday to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, an Austrian government spokesman said. Nehammer hopes his visit will promote dialogue between Russia and Ukraine.
On Saturday, Nehammer was still in Ukraine, where he met Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky. Zelensky also spoke with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Kiev on Saturday. In those conversations, Zelensky indicated that he still believed in a diplomatic solution to the war in his country.
