7 coaching stations in Switzerland
Arminia Bielefeld relies on a well-known face in Switzerland for the coaching position after being relegated to the Bundesliga. Uli Forte, ex-coach of BSC Young Boys, FC Zurich or Grasshoppers Club, signed a two-year contract in East Westphalia until 2024. At DSC he was “convincing with his emotional nature, his positive energy and many years of experience as a head coach”. it by Managing Director Samir Arabi. Most recently, Forte was under contract for a year at Yverdon Sport, his seventh time as head coach in Switzerland, in the second division. The Italian, who was born near Zurich, was released there on Friday.
“I’m really looking forward to this challenge in the 2nd Bundesliga with Arminia. German football has always been a dream of mine,” emphasized Forte. “Now it’s finally starting at a big traditional club.” At Arminia, as manager Arabi explained, Forte is now about “building a new foundation to stabilize and further develop our team.” On the transfer market, Bielefeld recorded Silvan Sidler, who also comes from Switzerland, is just a newcomer. As of now, however, nine departures have become known (all Arminia transfers for the coming season).
Goalkeeping coach Marco Kostmann had coached the team since Frank Kramer separated after 13 months on April 20, but was unable to slow down the sporting downward trend of the penultimate table.
Uli Forte is our new head coach. The 48-year-old signed a contract until 2024 and comes from the Swiss club @yverdonsport. Previously, Uli was already at @gc_zurich and @fcz just like @BSC_YB, @FCSG_1879 and @FCW1900 employed.#Always there pic.twitter.com/62GT2CbEgw
