Fewer people than expected protested against the three upcoming Rammstein shows in Berlin.
“We are here to make a mark. Against patriarchy and sexualised violence. We believe the victims and show solidarity with them. If you don’t do that, you support the patriarchal system. Rammstein fans – protection against offenders!” are the closing words in the Berlin demo ticker – with this the participants in the demonstration “No Rammstein in Berlin!” Theodor-Heuss-Platz to the Olympic Stadiummade clear what is important to them.
400 people had been registered by the organizers. In fact, according to the police, the “rbb24” available, but only 150 people. Last but not least, this could be due to the high temperatures, because at 37 degrees Celsius not everyone likes to be in the city center after a running demo. The organizers are, at least on Twitter, satisfied. There it says: “We are many and we are loud!”
Demo against Rammstein shows: everything has been peaceful so far
The protesters seem to have walked the planned route to the Olympic Stadium without any incidents worth mentioning – they were accompanied by police forces who secured the sides.
Admission to the first Rammstein concert in the Olympic Stadium began at 4 p.m. Around 60,000 fans are now waiting to show their tickets. For security reasons, demonstrators and fans are separated from each other by demarcations to prevent possible riots. The demonstrators had also been advised in advance to use other subway stations so as not to come across fans of the band.
Meanwhile, the Rammstein fans also fear that the evening concert could be disturbed by demonstrators. A fan account posted that there is supposedly information that a protest group wants to get into the stadium to disrupt or even prevent all three concerts. Whether this is actually the case cannot be independently confirmed.
