Bernard Sprenger, the lawyer for Ali B’s victim Naomi, finds it awkward that she organized a party to celebrate her victory. “I was not in favor of that.”

Ali B will deeply regret that he appealed the abuse case against him, because he now has to spend not two, but three (!) years in prison. The court considers not only the rape of his victim Naomi proven, but also that of singer Ellen ten Damme. And that’s why he has to go to jail.

Tiny party

Naomi has already organized a party, her lawyer Bernard Sprenger tells the desk Show news. “She is actually relieved. She even had a tiny party. I was a little less in favor of that, because the cassation is ongoing.”

What does that mean? “This means that the Ali B camp will only look at whether the law has been violated, so the question of whether Naomi’s statements are credible and whether it happened is no longer an issue. The only issue is whether the law has been violated, whether: has the court properly motivated it all and put it all on paper?”

House of cards

In theory, it is possible that Ali could still get away with it, according to Bernard. “I am not a pure cassation specialist, but I have worked on it for a long time, and when I look at the judgment, you could shoot at something, but that does not bring down the house of cards.”

He continues: “My feeling is that this will take another six to nine months and that the court’s judgment will then stand. The client is very happy with that.”

‘Could’

Here and there it has also been mentioned one and a half to two years. “That could also be the case. You sometimes have cassation cases that take longer. Especially if you submit more resources or if it is more complicated.”

“But in principle there is something after six to nine months.”
