Adidas throws on the waffle iron – cooperation with the fast food chain Waffle House

Adidas has collaborated with the US restaurant chain Waffle House. The German sporting goods manufacturer announced on Monday that the result was a golf shoe that was modeled on the specialty of the house – waffles.

The shoe is based on the Tour 360 model, a golf shoe that has been reinterpreted by Adidas since its launch 18 years ago. Earlier this year, the shoe got a major overhaul, with Adidas paying special attention to fit and traction. Now comes the Waffle House version. The collaboration is prompted by a golf tournament taking place this week in Georgia – Waffle House was founded in Georgia in 1955 and has since become one of the best-known fast food chains in the southern US state.

“We love this time of year because it’s the unofficial start of the golf season for everyone,” said Masun Denison, Global Footwear Director at Adidas Golf knew it would be fun to work with the team on a design that would bring everyone a piece of the famous restaurant – and do it in our flagship silhouette.”

The Waffle House edition not only takes on the same surface of the dessert, but also makes use of a buttery color palette reminiscent of waffle batter. The motto was also implemented in the design of the sole: the bottom of the shoe is made of a transparent material, crossed by a pattern reminiscent of a “generous shot of maple syrup”. The Waffle House logo can be seen on the heel of the shoe.

The waffle sneaker will be available from April 7th in the Adidas online shop and at selected Adidas stores in the USA.
