Detour! The bridge on the Waterleliepad will close for a month

Perhaps the most important bridge for cyclists and walkers in Zoetermeer will close for a month. The bridge on the Waterleliepad will be replaced by a new one.

The so-called ‘kangaroo bridge’ connects the Seghwaert, Leyens, Palenstein and Centrum districts. Every day hundreds of students and residents drive to and from school, the Stadshart and home via this bridge.

Alternative route

The bridge will be closed from Monday, August 28 at 7 a.m. to Friday, September 22 at 4 p.m. During this period you have to make a detour near the Greecelaan, via the bridge over the Leidsewallenwetering. If necessary, there are traffic controllers to direct traffic in the right direction.

Mysterious plate hanger

The work will not only be a nuisance for cyclists and pedestrians, but also for the mysterious sign hanger. The name Dollebrug hangs on the bridge that is being demolished: hung by an unknown Zoetermeer. With the demolition of the bridge, the sign will also disappear.
