LIván’s death continues to keep the inhabitants of Belmonte in suspensethe town in which it is set the Spanish series Everyone lies. In the latest episode – broadcast tonight at 21.20 on Rai 2 with episodes 5 and 6 – it turns out who is guilty. It could end here, but instead the plot takes an unexpected turn and turns upside down all the time, right up to the end credits.
Everyone liesthe plot of the last episode
All the knots come home to roost. In addition to the identity of the culprit, ties that have remained in the shadows emerge. Of course, it is clear that all the characters are somehow connected to the boy’s death. Each of them had a motive to assassinate him and is a continuous search for the truth that leads to only one conclusion: everyone lies.
The series maintains the double narrative plan. In the past, Iván Soler (Lucas Nabor) is hospitalized in the psychiatry ward after attempting suicide. Here he receives a visit from his parentsworried about his health, of ex-girlfriend Lucía (Berta Castañé) and the dearest loved ones. Among these is Yolanda (Eva Santolaria), who through the story of Iván and Macarena relives a trauma from her past.
Tell Iván that during her adolescence she had fallen in love with a man older than her. He was the father of a close friend of hers. Theirs was a relationship made up of fleeting glances and great harmony. A platonic relationship that lasted for months and closed only when the man seduced her and then abandoned her right after. It is about Alfonso (Jaume Sans), the father of Macarena. Through tears, he tries to save Iván from himself, explaining to him that what he feels for Macarena is not love, but morbidity and obsession.
Suspicions fall on Néstor: is he the murderer of Iván?
Meanwhile Néstor (Leonardo Sbaraglia) confesses to Macarena that he is having an affair with Sofía (Amaia Salamanca), but nevertheless it is certain that they should give themselves a second chance to try to save their marriage. For his part, Macarena thinks only of Iván: she is shocked by the attempted suicide, she feels guilty and does not know how to end this nightmare.
In the present, Macarena is in the police station. Maite (Mirandosi Ibarguren) suspects that Nestor is responsible for the murder. So he is summoned to the police station and all the clues point to his guilt, but the discovery of the truth is still far away.
The final episode of Everyone lies revolves around solving the mystery: who is the killer? At Macarena’s house, she, Néstor and his daughter Natalia (Carmen Arrufat) are dealing with the murder weapon. They have to decide what to do with the knife with which Iván was killed: go to the police or ignore it. Eventually, they come up with a plan that allows them to get rid of it without taking great risks. And that makes them appear accomplices in a murder committed by one of the three or, at the same time, victims of unfortunate circumstances.

The series finale: the discovery of the culprit
At this point, it seems that Néstor knows something more, just as it is clear that it was not Macarena who killed Iván. It returns to the past. Yolanda confronts Macarena and accuses her of failing to protect the feelings of Iván, a fragile and defenseless teenager who has fallen in love with a woman older than him.
Meanwhile, Iván escapes from the hospital. Lucía (Berta Castañé) meets him on the street and follows him. They arrive at the point where he will be killed shortly after and the mystery thickens. She reproaches him for teasing her and runs away in tears. Is she the one to stab him to take revenge for the wrong done? Meanwhile, the end-of-year show is about to go on at school.
Ava (Natalia Verbeke) arrives, desperate because her son is missing, but no one has seen him. Behind the scenes, they are all abuzz and in general chaos one character escapes everyone’s eye: Natalia. Macarena and Néstor’s daughter wanders undisturbed between home and school. And she too meets Iván at the scene of the crime. Is it she who delivers the fatal blow to the chest?
Little before the grand finale, the plot turns upside down yet again. Néstor confesses to Macarena that he killed Iván. His wife is in shock and tells him to tell the police everything, but just as the conversation threatens to lead to a dangerous argument, Macarena is saved by Ava, who kills Néstor. They hatch a detailed plan and they get rid of the body by throwing it off a promontory. However they make a grave error of judgment and perhaps have killed an innocent.
Everyone lies 2 season, who will be there
The first season ends with an unsuspected killer, an innocent killed by mistake and a woman – Macarena – destroyed by grief. The final minutes of the sixth and final episode open a further scenario, which will be explored in the second season. Shooting is underway and from the published shots on Instagram from the director Pau Freixas and the protagonist, Irene Arcos, it is possible to find out who will be in the cast.
Besides Macarena, Sergio (Juan Diego Botto) returns, her lawyer brother, always ready to lend her a hand, as does Natalia (Carmen Arrufat). Again, in the new episodes there will be Maite (Miren Ibarguren) and, twist, Néstor (Leonardo Sbaraglia)! So he’s not dead? Did Ava and Macarena just fake his death? Does he save himself after a tens of meters flight? Or does he appear in a series of flashbacks?
Regarding the plot, in the last episode Macarena and Ava establish a strong complicity, strengthened by Macarena’s pregnancy. They are two women united by desperation, but also by the hope of a future that can perpetuate the memory of Iván. Of course, the surprises are not finished ed it is likely that Everyone lies 2 is just the continuation of a roller coaster ride in which everything is the opposite of everything and everyone is, in some way, guilty.
