Manchester United stays close to the top of the Premier League thanks to Marcus Rashford. The team coached by Erik ten Hag won 1-0 (0-0) at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday after a goal by the English international in the 76th minute. For United it was their fifth competitive win in a row – the team had last managed that in April 2021.
Rashford was initially only on the bench for disciplinary reasons, but was substituted on right at the start of the second half. “No further details, our rules. We’re concentrating on the game,” said the Dutchman ten Hag before the match and kept the reasons for his action to himself. Rashford’s supposed second goal in the final phase was disallowed after video evidence because he had illegally touched the ball with his left hand. With the victory at the “Wolves” United jumps to fourth place in the table and overtakes Tottenham.
