In French-speaking Belgium, some students have not received lessons for weeks, exams are canceled and children are lost. “Anyone who sacrifices the curriculum, lessons and exams of his own students on such a massive scale undermines exactly the equal opportunities he says he is fighting for,” writes political journalist Isolde Van den Eynde. “To strike is a right, but so is the right to education.”
