After a permanent commitment from Lugano loanee Fotios Pseftis (23) could not be implemented, sports director Rachid Azzouzi quickly found a replacement for Alemannia Aachen between the posts: Stefan Bajic comes on a free transfer from RC Strasbourg Alsace from Ligue 1. The 24-year-old, who was also active in England for Bristol City, was not used in the past season. With the French junior teams he took part in the U19 European Championships in 2019, the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021 and the U21 European Championships in 2023.

“Stefan enjoyed an excellent education in France – both in the club and in the French U-national teams. Despite his young age, he already has experience from various professional leagues and demanding competitions. We are convinced that he fits in very well with our team, both athletically and personally, and are happy to see him in the Alemannia jersey in the future,” said Azzouzi.

Coach Mersad Selimbegovic is looking forward to “an ambitious goalkeeper who has already gained experience at the highest French level. During the discussions, we quickly realized that he is very keen on the task here in Aachen. At the same time, our analyzes have shown that his qualities fit very well with the way we want to play football.” Bajic added: “The discussions with those responsible were very positive from the start and gave me a good feeling. I first looked into the club, the fans and the stadium and I’m thrilled. I’m really looking forward to this new task.”
