The President of the Republic, Alexander Stubb, played golf at Kultaranta Golf Resort in Naantali on Tuesday. HIFK defender Aron Kiviharju was on the field with the president. Kiviharju shared a photo of the duo from the field in his Instagram story.

The 18-hole golf course is located in the Naantali archipelago.

Kiviharju thanked Stubb for the round in the text he wrote on his Instagram story, saying that it was “a great pleasure and honor”. The two pose quite happily in their joint photo.

Kiviharju, 20, joined the Santahamina Sports School earlier in the spring for military service. He has represented HIFK since autumn 2023. Accompanied by a lot of media attention, the defender, who moved from TPS to a redshirt, has played a total of 116 regular season and playoff games in a redshirt over three seasons.

The defender’s contract with HIFK still covers next season. The Minnesota Wild own his NHL rights after signing him in the summer 2024 draft.

Stubb, who is known as a passionate hockey player and HIFK supporter, has had a lot of contact with hockey players at the beginning of June, because last week he welcomed the Lions, who won the world championship, to his official residence in Mäntyniemi.

During his presidency, he has also attended matches of the Helsinki club and has met Kiviharju, for example, on several occasions when he represented Finland’s age-group national teams.
