Finns have once again voted for the best hamburger restaurant. The best burger restaurant in Finland is Bursalad from Völkälä, according to Burger Lovers Finland’s press release.
In the vote, the two-time Best of Finland winner Grill Room Hankasalmi took second place, and the previous number one, The Van – Street Food Factory from Kotka, also came third.

She founded her husband Pekka Mäkinen with Bursalad in November 2022.
– We have had to come up with something so good that we can get along and be able to offer work to others as well. We only have a small nudge, which turns into a big tasting burger, says Pekka Mäkinen in the press release.
Bursalad has 14 customer seats inside and six picnic tables outside.

According to Mäkinen, right now we are not thinking about expansion, but we are doing everything to serve customers within the current framework. With time, we will see how the situation develops.
A record 21,786 approved votes were cast in the burger restaurant vote organized by the Burger Lovers Finland community and McCain.
In addition, restaurants from Lohja, Kangasniemi, Varkaue, Salo, Kouvola, Sipoo and Rauma entered the top ten.
One of the founders of the Burger Lovers Finland community Antti Suikkari points out in the announcement that the list of results confirms that the best burgers in Finland are often found outside the biggest cities.
– Finland’s burger map is a good basis for a tourist map. This year’s top restaurants can be found all over the country. In pursuit of a good burger, we are ready to travel, and at the same time we get to know new places, restaurants and entrepreneurs, Suikkari reminds in the press release.

According to Mäkinen, the background of Bursalad’s success is almost ten years of development work and the successful matching of flavors. As the name suggests, the restaurant also offers all the burgers on its menu in a salad version without a bun.
– We constantly strive to make the perfect burger, but this kind of thing is exciting because something new and even better is always invented. We make everything that makes sense ourselves, starting with mayonnaise and pickles. Our buns are baked by a familiar baker, and no one else has the same ones. They have their own juju. Our smash steak also differs from others in its size, because I want as large and crispy a frying surface as possible, Pekka Mäkinen says in the press release.
Ten of the Top 20 restaurants in this year’s Finland’s best hamburger restaurant poll will participate in the largest hamburger festival in the Nordic countries, which starts tomorrow, Wednesday.
Participating in the festival are Grill Room (ranked 2nd this year), Hiidenvesi Grilli (4th), Street Boys (6th), Fisuburger (7th), Harri’s Food Factory (9th), JJ’s BBQ (10th), Greasy Spoon (12th), J&S Burger (14th), 2 Kundia Burgers & Fries (15th), Eepin Diner (17th), as well as the new Dust & Fry chain and Helsinki Distillery Burgers & Cocktails.
