Kieran Trippier has found a new club after his contract with Newcastle United ended and is moving to the Championship. The 35-year-old full-back will join Wolverhampton Wanderers, who were relegated from the Premier League this season, until 2028.

Trippier, who played 54 international matches for England, held a regular place in Newcastle for years and played a total of 160 games for the Magpies (4 goals, 29 assists). After four and a half years, his contract was not renewed. Now he is supposed to help Wolves get promoted again and is taking the place in the squad of veteran Matt Doherty (34), who is leaving the club.

“Kieran has played at the highest level throughout his career, so we are delighted that he has chosen Wolves to write the next chapter of his career. He is a player of incredible quality, his leadership skills are second to none and he also has an innate desire to win. His experience in the Premier League, Champions League and at international level will be invaluable to our squad,” said Wolves owner Nathan Shi. “We know the challenge ahead in the Championship, but Kieran’s signing shows how ambitious we want to be. We look forward to him bringing his professionalism, character and exceptionally high standards to the team and helping to take the club forward.”
