Lothar Matthäus expects that FC Bayern will succeed in extending the contract with striker Harry Kane before the start of the season.

With 61 competitive goals, Kane can look back on a fabulous season in Munich. No wonder that FC Bayern wants to extend the English superstar’s working paper, which is dated until 2027, sooner rather than later. Matthäus sees good opportunities for the project.

“I assume that Harry Kane will extend his contract even before next season,” said the TV expert in a media round.

Hoeneß: Kane is FC Bayern’s best transfer

Kane should feel comfortable with his family in Munich. FC Bayern released the now 32-year-old from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023. The transfer fee at that time was said to have been around 95 million euros. Those responsible have never regretted the large investment – quite the opposite.

Kane was “the best transfer we have ever made,” said honorary president Uli Hoeneß on “Sky” after the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart (3-0). Kane had recently scored all three goals for FC Bayern in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. Hoeneß also declared the center forward unsaleable.

Matthäus expects Olise to stay at FC Bayern

When it comes to Michael Olise, the German industry leader also remains tough. Real Madrid are said to be interested in the French winger, but the Munich team is not thinking about transferring the 24-year-old.

FC Bayern “never just looked at the money account, but it’s about the sport and the entertainment value. And Michael Olise entertains us at his best,” said Matthäus, commenting on Munich’s attitude.

The 1990 world champion is therefore firmly convinced that FC Bayern will turn down Los Blancos from Olise, regardless of the amount of the offer.
